The Newburyport Choral Society 2017 Spring Concert: Annelies
Save the date!...for a very special unifying community event. The 125-voice Newburyport Choral Society will perform James Whitbourn’s powerful oratorio Annelies, based on Anne Frank’s Diary of a Young Girl.
Through its “woundingly beautiful” score, Annelies commemorates Anne Frank’s courage and spirit of hope under the horrors of oppression, and teaches the lesson of valuing and protecting our shared humanity. The concert ends with Whitbourn’s healing anthem
All Shall be Amen and Alleluia.
