History Tour of St. Paul's Church

History Tour of St. Paul's Church

Join your St. Paul's tour guide dressed in period colonial garb who will escort you back through time to the founding of the parish in 1711 in British New England, and will take you through the Revolutionary War period to the present day through a narrative history tour..

Visitors will tour the current church building, hear the story of its design and architecture, see period artifacts such as the 1809 Paul Revere bell, hear about the role of African-Americans in the early church, and the contribution of Rev. Edward Bass who saved the church from destruction during the Revolutionary period. St. Paul’s is the oldest continuous Episcopal parish in Massachusetts. The tour will last one hour and 15 minutes. Gather at the front doors of the church at 166 High Street, Newburyport. Call 978-465-5351 for more information.
