NBPT Lions and NBPT City Councilors join to address local food insecurity.
NBPT Lions put out a call to action to NBPT City Councilors to come together to help
meet the challenges of local food insecurity. The call was heeded, and several councilors
will join to collect while engaging with their local constituents.
Lions, Councilors, and Friends will be in the tent this Saturday to help address a problem
that has continued growing even in our community.
Due to a combination of supply chain and labor problems, the Greater Boston Food Bank
has been forced to cut the amount of food available to all member agencies. This has left
the First Parish Newbury Food Pantry scrambling to fill its shelves so they can continue
to fulfill the needs of members of our greater community. As the largest all-volunteer
food pantry in the area, Newbury Food Pantry is committed to meeting the nutritional
needs of all its guests.
The Lions Club encourages people to come and engage with their local Councilors while
donating to community needs.
