Reframed
Albert John Belmont & Courtney Seymour
Home is often imagined as a place of comfort, stability, and belonging—but for many, it is also a site
of rupture, memory, and unresolved tension. Reframed is an exhibition that explores the emotional
and psychological architecture of houses and homes, tracing the journey from uneasy pasts to
reimagined futures. Featuring painting, mixed media, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition
explores the fragile boundary between safety and exposure, familiarity and distortion. From childhood
bedrooms marked by silence to structures that offered shelter but not safety, these works confront the
stories we were given about home—and the ones we now choose to tell. Instead of preserving home
as a comforting illusion, the artists in Reframed confront it as a complicated structure. Together, they
invite us to consider how home can be reexamined and ultimately reframed.
